October Fishing Report
Daytona Beach fishing is on fire with this cooler weather. The Halifax river is producing redfish, drum, flounder and many more. Use large live shrimp free lining or on a jighead. With the Tomoka basin producing mix bag of redfish from 18 to 32″. Ive been using 2-3 1/2″ finger mullet just free lining the baits right against the bank and oyster bars. If you go up the Tomoka river you can find snook along the banks where the trees are laying down. Use a deep diving stick bait or a suspending twitch bait around the trees…remember up your leader to get them out of the structure. Last but not least, Ponce inlet has the breeding reds around the jetties. You can catch them on cut crab or large finger mullet. Also the creeks and canals around the inlet have a mix bag of everything from sharks to snapper. I would use a jig head with a live shrimp on it and slowly drag the bottom for the best results. |
