March Fishing Report
Daytona Beach Fishing Report
Ponce Inlet Area:
Fishing around Ponce Inlet from Port Orange to Edgewater in the river areas has been GREAT on the sheepshead by the pilings on the docks and bridges, also the deeper holes with some type of structure. Use Shrimp or Fiddlers if you can find them. The trout have been good at night around docks in the New Smyrna and Edgewater. The bridges around Daytona Beach have been on the quiet side, but black drum are bite is starting to pick up. I would use a bottom rig with either live or fresh dead shrimp. If you are looking to catch a lot of fish the Blues are just about everywhere.
Ormond Beach and the Tomoka Basin:
There are a lot of rat Reds around the docks with flounder laying in the mud in the Halifax River. Use live shrimp, mud minnows or small finger mullet for the Redfish and Flounder. Everyone is say the bite is slow but if you put your time in you can find some mid to over slot Redfish in the Tomoka Basin. The best way to catch them is one a live finger mullet or fresh cut bait.
