September Report

The bite is heating up with the Redfish starting to stage and move out to spawn. You can find them from Ormond Beach to Port Orange hanging around the oyster bars. Use live finger mullet or for you artificial fishermen throw a mullet like bait. Such as a top water plug. I like the Rapala Skitter walk in the Bone or Gold Mullet pattern. For the soft plastic I am using the paddle tail from Grandslam Baits in the Swamp Bacon, Copper Pepper and the Texas Tea. The Trout bite is also picking up in the Halifax River around the docks and drop offs. I am still using the same pattern for them as I am for the Redfish. For you Flounder lovers the signs are looking good as I am seeing them move in to the Tomoka Basin and the creeks and canals around Ponce Inlet. The Tarpon are still rolling around hitting finger mullet in the Tomaka area.
